HOORAY!
This is huge, actually bigger than huge, gigantic! My children, Thaddaeus and Riah, have decided that having their picture taken is fun! I was so apprehensive this morning durning breakfast, wondering if I should let them know that we are headed to my studio or if I should just show up and surprise them? I opted to hype it up with things like "Hey do you want to see where mommy works? Guess what we're doing for Christmas presents?! (sorry for spoiler family members !)" I didn't get them ready at home, I knew that after all the winter gear came off at the studio that I'd have to redo hair anyway. So we loaded our duffle bag and headed to the studio. It was amazing, beyond amazing, my children have never acted this way for me before. They took direction as a team and actually listened when I said, "could you move your chin down a little bit for mommy?" At one point they actually fought over whose turn it was! Thad was madly signing "take turns," while Riah was screaming, "YOU JUST HAD A TURN!" Let me just say I was relieved, it could have gone like every other photoshoot I have with them, where one of us or all of us end up crying. When I am photographing other families it's different with my own children I don't have any other persuasive helpful people there but me! It was awesome and Riah even had a 'princess session' at the end with some of the costume clothes at the studio. Tomorrow she gets to join me as I direct, do hair and help my friend Brandon do a fruity fashion shoot! Should be a blast! Here are few from today!
These look great! Riah looks like such a young lady these days!

Hello!
First of all...your children are gorgeous!
Second...I came over here from reading your post on Design Mom. With tears running down my face. You see, my husband and I are adopting a gorgeous 18 month old baby girl from China (hoping to travel to meet her next week!) who was born with a complete unilateral cleft lip. We think she is gorgeous and perfect.
What you wrote is beautiful. Thank you.
